A Pakistani comedian died while participating in a TV show organised for the Pakistan-India World Cup semifinal match that India went on to win, a media report said on Thursday.Daily Times reported that comedian Liaqat Soldier, 55, died due to heart attack here Wednesday.

The comedian was taking part in a special show of a local TV channel when he suffered the heart attack and died on his way to hospital.

India beat Pakistan by 29 runs at the match held in Mohali which was witnessed by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh. The meeting between Gilani and Manmohan Singh has been dubbed cricket diplomacy.

India will now play against Sri Lanka in Mumbai Saturday in the finals.

Liaqat started his career as an actor in 1973 and performed in over 250 television plays, besides numerous stage dramas across the globe during his 38-year career.

His first movie was “Qaid” while his first drama was “Tum Kia Jano”. He also worked in several parody movies.

Liaquat, who performed in different countries, including India, also wrote and directed about 50 dramas.

The "One more time" singer has been sued for $10 Million for breach of contract over her perfume brand "Radiance".The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, relates to her branding deal with beauty firm Elizabeth Arden, worth $15m a year. Britney and her father Jamie are accused of being 'sneaky and underhand' by trying to cut Brand Sense PArtner, LLC. out of a licensing agreement.

In the court documents it is stated: 'Britney secretly made a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in a sneaky underhanded effort to circumvent and evade its obligations to Brand Sense.

'Effectively, Britney improperly and illegally cut Brand Sense out of the Elizabeth Arden deal.'Britney is being accused of 'concealment and evasive actions' by Brand Sense.

The suit adds that Brand Sense has a 'contractual right to 35 per cent commission on any Britney Spears-branded fragrance sold by Elizabeth Arden'.It claims that Jamie Spears, who remains his daughter's conservator, 'complained that the commission was too high and said that Britney did not want to pay it'.

A compromise deal was reached where royalties were delivered directly to Britney.

But the details only emerged when Elizabeth Arden sent a letter to Britney and Brand sense, on February 16 this year, with a revised royalty report which did not include the Radiance scent.Spears released Radiance, the ninth scent in her collection, in September, last year

The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong officially became the world's tallest hotel - and the fourth highest building in the world - when it opened its doors to the public today.

There are three restaurants on the 102nd floor, including Tin Lung Heen, which is a Chinese restaurant serving refined Cantonese cuisine; Tosca, an Italian restaurant which offers Southern Italian cuisine and the very stylish The Lounge & Bar with fire pits and open kitchens.

In addition, there is a chocolate-themed lounge named The Chocolate Library on 103rd floor and a stylish patisserie located on 9th floor.

Managers say the jewel in the crown is Ozone, located on the hotel's 118th floor.

The images are said to show the singer in various intimate situations, including at Nicole Richie's bachelorette party and in bed with her new boyfriend Matthew Rutler, reports the Daily Mail.

The photos, dated from June to November 2010, surfaced when they were offered for sale to a U.S. website by a man who said he had found the lost card in an upscale hotel.

The website claims to have seen the 'romantic' shots of 30-year-old Aguilera and Rutler.

A selection of images reportedly showed the new couple kissing passionately in a variety of locations. Another showed them lying in bed together.

The couple met in 2010 on the set of 'Burlesque', where Rutler worked as a set assistant.

Fifteen of the shots showed Aguilera at her friend Richie's bachelorette bash in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico September 2010.

Radaronline.com, which was offered the images for sale, also reports that images show Aguilera in a series of compromising poses, including mimicking oral sex on a banana, dancing on a table, posing with naked men, and posing for before-and-after make-up shots.

This is not the first time Aguilera has seen her private photos made public.

In December a series of images showing her in various stages of undress were published online.

Ajay Devgn is back in action, something he does best. Ajay will be seen playing the role of a tough cop in his upcoming flick Singham. His role will surely make you forget Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey for good.

The actor is currently in Goa, shooting for the action thriller directed by Rohit Shetty.

“It’s a film about men,” explains Devgn. “‘Singham’ will mark the return of hardcore raw action to the cinemas with a lot of dialogue-baazi and machismo. It should sock a punch; it will connect to the man on the street because of its simple narrative and terrific action.”

Director Rohit Shetty is super enthusiastic about the film.

“My hero Bajirao Singham (Ajay) is a simple police officer who is happy to toe the line till he is provoked by baddie Prakash Raj to show his ferocious side. And when Ajay does that, hell breaks loose,” quips the stylish director.

This movie also marks the return of the raw desi action seen in Indian film earlier.

“I have not used a single foreign fighter or imported any foreign equipment for my film. I personally feel indigenous action has a better impact than all the foreign stunts that people are obsessing about these days. As Indians, we identify with our style of raw action, which we have sidelined because some of us have suddenly developed an affinity to the West. To each his own, but for me what works is our own desi action,” Shetty adds.

Singham is a remake of Tamil film of the same name. The story revolves around a Sub-Inspector named Singham, who is a brave policeman. He serves in his hometown primarily to fulfill his father’s wish. Singham settles every dispute in his town patiently with his words of wisdom and resorts to force only when the situation demands it. A city girl who comes on vacation to Nallore, falls in love with Singham.

Southern hottie Kajal Aggarwal is the leading lady of the film.

Singham is due for release on July 22.

LOS ANGELES - Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor, the violet-eyed film goddess whose sultry screen life was often upstaged by her stormy personal life, died Wednesday at age 79.

She died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks, publicist Sally Morrison said.
"All her children were with her," Morrison said.Taylor had extraordinary grace, fame and wealth, and won three Oscars, including a special one for her humanitarian work. But she was tortured by ill health, failed romances and personal tragedy.
"I think I'm becoming fatalistic," she said in 1989. "Too much has happened in my life for me not to be fatalistic."Her eight marriages — including two to actor Richard Burton — and a lifelong battle with substance abuse, physical ailments and overeating made Taylor as popular in supermarket tabloids as in classic film festivals.

Taylor disclosed in November 2004 that she had congestive heart failure. But she still periodically dismissed reports that she was at death's door, saying she used a wheelchair only because of chronic back problems that began at age 12 when she fell from a horse.
"Oh, come on, do I look like I'm dying?" she said in May 2006 in a rare television interview on CNN's "Larry King Live." "Do I look like or sound like I have Alzheimer's?" Tabloids report such things "because they have nothing else dirty to write about anybody else," she said.
When she turned 75 the following year, she was asked about the secret to her longevity and quipped: "Hangin' in."The London-born actress was a star at age 12, a bride and a divorcee at 18, a screen goddess at 19 and a widow at 26.
She appeared in more than 50 films, and won Oscars for her performances in "Butterfield 8" (1960) and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966), in which she starred opposite Burton.

This is the moment a Japanese Coast Guard ship was confronted by the tsunami that hit the coast of Japan on Friday.

Amazing video footage shows a huge wave looming on the horizon of an otherwise calm Pacific.

The wall of water was created by an earthquake off the coast of Japan, and it is believed to be the first footage of the tsunami in the open ocean.

But as their ship safely rode the wave, its crew were powerless to do anything but warn their countrymen it was on its way.

So imagine the shock Akki was in for when he heard from friends that Salman Khan had ousted him as host of the upcoming fourth season of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

According to a source, the Dabangg star is already on for KKK4. "Salman shot a promo for KKK4 in Bangkok while shooting for Bhushan Kumar's Ready. He would never shoot a promo unless he had signed a contract.

The channel is debating on how to break the news to Akshay who was kicked about hosting the show's fourth season."

A source explains the shift in loyalties. "After successful runs with 10 Ka Dum and Bigg Boss 4 and his runaway hit, Dabangg, Salman is on a hot streak. He's friends with Colors' head, Ashwini Yardi.

He has hinted on giving them a bargain a double deal for Big Boss 5 and KKK 4. The clincher could be BB4's higher TRPs than Akshay has ever had on his show for the same channel."

Exit clause

These factors have convinced the channel to do a rethink despite signing AK to host KKK4. Apparently, both the actor and the channel have an exit clause where one can opt out of the deal without having to break it.

Colors is exploring this clause as Akki has already shot for a promo for KKK4 in South Africa in February.

Says a source close to Akshay, "He has heard the rumours of Salman replacing him but is choosing not to believe them till the channel tells him so.

He refuses to believe that Salman would do something so underhand."

When asked to comment, Ashwini Yardi says, "I cannot say anything at this point." While Akki and Sallu remained unavailable for comment.

For Sony's 10 Ka Dum, Salman was paid Rs 90 crore for 100 episodes. When he realised that Akshay was being paid Rs 1.5 crore for 16 episodes to host Colors' Khatron Ke Khiladi, he was upset. Sallu refused to come on the sets until his price was hiked. Sony was in a fix. The show with Salman had already been announced and the promos were to soon go on air. It was finally agreed that Salman should be paid a crore per episode, making him richer by Rs 104 crore for 100 episodes!

Australian origin Indian actor Bob Christo, known for playing villain and British era police officer in a number of Indian movies, passed away at a Bengaluru Hospital yesterday.

The 72-year old actor was rushed to the hospital early Saturday, after complaining of a chest pain. Christo suffered a heart attack at the hospital, following which he was operated, but after a day in critical care, he passed away.

Cristo started getting noticed as a dreadful villain after the 1980 movie Abdullah, following which he acted in 200 movies in Hindi and other South Indian languages. In a recent interview to a weekly magazine, Cristo had mentioned his stint in Bollywood was unplanned; he was visiting India in transit, as his work pass in Oman had expired. Christo retired from movies in 2003, and is survived by his wife Nargis, and sons Sunil and Darius.

Yesterday evening, Hrithik Roshan drove out of his building Palazzio and headed to Yash Chopra’s Juhu Bungalow. Little did he know, what a fiasco awaited him later on in the evening.

It all started when Hrithik came out of Chopra’s house in his car. Three beggars came knocking at the car window.

Hrithik’s driver, who has been with the star since his first film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, and has never erred so far, slowed the car down.

But one of the beggars (circled in red, Pic 1) was up to some real mischief.

The beggar in question threw himself before the car and started screaming that he had been hurt.

He held his leg and turned sides yelling, ‘Maar dala, maar dala’. (See, Pic 2)

A few miscreants joined the scene and started pulling the beggar back to his feet, without succeeding. (See, Pic 3) “The idea was to convince Hrithik that the beggar had been badly injured,” informed a source.

Says an eyewitness, “Hrithik and his driver knew that they were not wrong. But then they got really scared. What if the beggar had been really hurt?”

Seeing that it was all a big drama created by some crazy fans, he reported back to Roshan, to put him at ease.

When contacted, Hrithik confirmed and said, “I was concerned. I sent my man back with money and a car to take the beggar to a hospital if need be. But when he got there, he realized that he was faking it,” and added, “It was a ploy to get me out of the car.”

Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi has replaced the cartoon character of Fido Dido as the face of PepsiCo’s aerated drink 7UP.

Sharman has been signed up for two years, and sources said he has been paid Rs.5 crore for the endorsement deal.

The campaign for the drink, ‘Gussa Hatao, Chill Machao’, involves two television commercials and will focus on simple issues of anger management.

Sharman said he was excited about the commercials, which will be aired by the end of March.

“I have always enjoyed drinking 7UP, hence I believe this endorsement was meant to be. I am glad to be a part of this interesting and exciting campaign, which delivers a message I personally believe in, as anger leads to nothing but regret,” Sharman said in a press statement.

The actor, who has featured in films like “Rang De Basanti”, “Golmaal”, “Life…In A Metro”, “Sorry Bhai”, “3 Idiots” and “Toh Baat Pakki”, also admits he was quite upbeat about the campaign as he was getting to shoot with his “3 Idiots” director Rajkumar Hirani.

A PepsiCo spokesperson says Sharman has been roped in for his calm attitude.

“Sharman, with his calm, unruffled and extremely affable personality, is a perfect match to highlight the brand’s positioning of a cool, refreshing drink,” said Alpana Titus, category marketing director (flavoured carbonated drinks), PepsiCo India Beverages.

Justin Timberlake has appeared semi naked with co-star Mila Kunis in a newly released trailer for his upcoming flick, ‘Friends With Benefits’.

If the two and a half minute clip is anything to go by the 30-year-old actor spends most of the movie partially clothed and in bed with the attractive ‘Black Swan’ star.

The film follows two friends, Dylan and Jamie, who break up with by their respective partners and decide to take their friendship to the next level in order in order to get over their ex’s.

The 27-year-old actress, recently told U.S. magazine The Advocate that the couple got to know each other very well during filming.

“We had two weeks worth of sex scenes to shoot,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

What was the general opinion in Pakistan and your opinion on Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan being detained in India for FERA violence?
Dekhiye hamare mulk mein bahut sari baatein kahin gayi isske bare mein. People there said because Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Saab is an artiste so he should have been treated with leniency. I disagree.

In my opinion he was let off lightly with just a fine. But the Indian laws are equally applicable to Indians and Pakistanis. Look at what Salman Khan has gone through for his black-buck case…Or Sanjay Dutt…in spite of being Indians they’ve faced the full impact of the laws here.

I feel happy that the laws are followed so scrupulously in India. Fateh Ali Saab was earning so much money in India. In my opinion he should’ve paid his taxes in the proper way.

So you think the hue and cry against his detention in Pakistan was uncalled-for?
Main aapo ek baat bataaon? If a female Pakistani artiste had been similarly detained in India Pakistani reactions would’ve been different. Because that was Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Saab they said, let him go.

If it was Veena Malik they’d have said, where did she get this money from? Mere oppar itna kichad oochala jata.

I’d have been sullied and damned. I’d like to tell my people, Khuda ke vaste double standards khatam karo. Let’s treat men and women equally.

How do you pay taxes in India when Pakistani artistes are not allowed to open bank accounts in India?
I paid 40 percent taxes on my earnings from Bigg Boss. They deducted the tax at source. My money was transferred to me in Pakistan. That’s the way to do it.

I’ve never accepted cash for any of my commitments in India. I am clear on this. If I am paying taxes in Pakistan I’ll pay them here as well.

What are you in India for this time?
I am doing two reality shows. After being on Big Boss I got offers from four Indian television channels to host cricket shows. I also got an offer to do the new season of Fear Factor. But the stunts particularly those requiring me to eat alien things, were too disgusting for me.

So I declined the offer although friends advised me to go for it. I’ve worked with a news channel in Pakistan as well. When I got a chance to do a cricket show I grabbed it. I am having a blast.

And when people like Anshuman Gaekwadji and Chetan Sharmaji ask me if I’ve been doing cricket commentary for a long time I’m deeply flattered. Because I’m doing this for the for the first time.

I don’t think people in any part of the world are as cricket-crazy as India and Pakistan. I am one of those cricket fiends. As a child I’d comment on matches from my home…as though I was on radio or television.

Any film offers in India?
Oh yes. There was an offer for an item number in a big film. Then I got an offer to do film with Aftab Shivdasani. But they had their sets ready and they wanted me to join immediately in March.

This month I’ll sign a few films and there’re at least a couple of other reality shows which are almost finalized…I’m supposed to return to Pakistan on April 2.

Hmmm why do I get the feeling that I won’t be returning to Pakistan for a while? (laughs).

Former model Katie Price has reportedly signed a $1.3 million deal to present new US reality TV show “Make Me A Hunk”.

The 32-year-old model travelled to Los Angeles last month for screen tests will front the eight-part series “Make Me A Hunk”, where she will help transform a geeky guy in each episode, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Salman Khan’s past haunts him once again…

A hit-and-run case, in which Salman is accused of ramming his SUV into a bakery, killing one person and injuring four others, is back to haunt the actor. He was and still is booked for rash and negligent driving under Section 304 (A) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). If found guilty under this section, he faces a jail term of two years.

But now, the prosecution has told a local court that Bollywood actor Salman Khan should be tried for more serious charge of ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’ in a hit-and-run case in 2002, under Section 304 II of the IPC. Under this section, Salman could face the maximum sentence of 10 years in jail if found guilty.

Mind you, Salman’s trouble with the law doesn’t end here. The actor still has a case pending against him in the high court for poaching black bucks in Mathiana, near Jodhpur.

Vipul Shah’s ‘Force’ will have John Abraham and Genelia D’souza together for the first time. And it is heard that the duo almost got married to each other on the sets of this film as well.

The actors were in a wedding sequence and were stopped from completing the saat pheras at the last minute.

Sources say the ceremony conducted was so authentic that had they completed the last round they would have actually been man and wife!

A source said, “We were shooting in Malshej Ghat and there was this old temple where we had got a local maharaj for the wedding sequence.

Unfortunately the pandit has never witnessed a wedding and did not understand the concept of ‘cut’ and ‘action’ while shooting. It was a multi-camera set-up and so we needed to have minimum shots.

However whenever Nishikant Kamath would say cut, the pandit would not stop. Finally after the sixth phera someone from the unit realized that the mantras were real and if not stopped John and Genelia would be actually married. So, they were stopped before the final round.”

When contacted Vipul Shah said, “Actually it was a funny thing. The local pandit could not understand the dynamics of the shoot and insisted on completing the pheras.

After the sixth phera, everyone burst out laughing as they realized that they would actually be married. John and Genelia then realized this too and burst out laughing.
However the maharaj kept insisting that they complete the pheras and it was difficult to explain to him that we cannot do this.

We also did not want to hurt his sentiments and did not want to be disrespectful towards him. The good part was that the scene came out beautifully as John and Genelia were laughing and smiling, all thanks to the pandit.”

Rakhi rejects a Hollywood project because of love making scenes…

If buzz is to be believed, Rakhi Sawant claims to have rejected a film with Hollywood star Russel Crowe because the script demanded making love on screen and Rakhi wasn’t very comfortable.

“Mujhe do offers aaye thay (I had received two offers), but just because of my broken English, and the bed scenes and smooch scenes involved, I have refused the movies,” says Rakhi, and adds, “They wanted me to do sex scenes. Gladiator ke hero Russell Crowe ke saath movie thi (It was a movie with the ‘Gladiator’ hero Russel Crowe). They wanted me to wear a two-piece, but I was not comfortable with it. I am even okay doing a pole dance, but not smooching scenes.”

If you find that hard to believe, here’s something more believable: Rakhi will play a sex teacher Delnaz Doodhwala in Ashfaque Makrani’s Qasam Se Qasam. Apart from the obvious pun in her character’s name, isn’t that a tad contradictory? “It’s a message that I am giving to the kids. It is also important to tell them about safety.
